BMRA is one of the most successful associations in Brufut.

The members share common interest to sustain the annual event, love and respect each others’ ideas.

The association has sponsored 275 School Children in Brufut mostly orphans.  The association supports community projects financially and support other youths at different communities to organise similar events.

The Marathon is very popular and it is graced by many people. More than five thousand (5,000) people participated in the past 13 years. At the end of the events all participants go home with something valuable i.e. gold, silver, bronze medals, bags of rice and other incentives given to participants.  The event draws participants from all over the country, the Gambia National Army and Police Force respectively as well as participants from Senegal and abroad.

The association over the past eight years has received valuable support from The Friends of The Gambia Association (FoTGA), a UK registered charity and NGO in The Gambia. FoTGA is seen as a loyal partner complementing the efforts of the association.  The Gambia Red Cross and Gambia Police Force have always rendered support.
